Christmas Course at Central School of English

Over the Christmas and New Year period our school remains open as usual, giving students the opportunity to benefit from our intensive English courses, with the added experience of our special cultural activity programme. London in winter-time, particularly in the months running up to Christmas and New Year, is a special sight to see and one that our students can enjoy as a complement to their cultural and academic discovery of England and the English language.

Our cultural programme includes all the best of British festive traditions, traditions that hark back years and form part of the rich tapestry of British history and culture. Enjoy conversations with the school teachers and school Principal over mince pies and mulled wine within the warmth of the school lounge, and join them on festive walks, ice-skating, and Christmas markets out in the city.

The unique beauty and excitement of London during the festive season is complemented by the distinct experience of a traditional British Christmas with our host families, for those who opt to reside in a homestay. Join in with typical British festivities such as carol singing, Christmas crackers, and of course a traditional Christmas dinner.

Cultural programme

As is the case throughout the year, the cultural activities that conclude an intense day of studies are an opportunity to apply the English that students have learned within the classroom to the bustling city of London that awaits outside.

Enjoy our special Christmas cultural programme with all that London has to offer at this time of year: ice-skating at Somerset House, Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, the Christmas market on the South Bank, and much, much more.

Throughout the year students have the choice of homestays or residences, and this remains the case during the festive period, with no change to prices.

Opt for a homestay and enjoy celebrating the festive season (including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day) with our carefully selected local host families. If you desire greater independence, choose from our range of comfortable and centrally located residences. You can read more about our year-round accommodation options here.
